Ellen R. Cohn PhD, CCC-SLP
Dr. Cohn is the taskleader on the RERC dissemination activities and task leader on Telerehabilitate!. She is Associate Dean of Instructional Development, University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Science and Disorders. She is a “member faculty” of the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine and has secondary appointments in the School of Pharmacy and Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. Previously, she was Director of the University of Pittsburgh Speech and Hearing Clinic, and a research associate at the University of Pittsburgh Cleft-Palate Craniofacial Clinic. As a member of the RERC on Telerehabilitation research team, she is the founding editor of the International Journal of Telerehabilitation. Cohn teaches in the areas of cleft palate and craniofacial disorders, pharmacy and therapeutics, orthodontics, telecommunication, rhetoric and communication, and instructional development and technology. She has co-authored academic books on: diversity in higher education, communication and culture, and videofluoroscopy. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Telemedicine Associations (Vice Chair, Special Interest Group on Telerehabilitation), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. She has contributed to the Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Journal of Speech-Language and Hearing Disorders, and Radiology. Cohn is a graduate of Douglass College of Rutgers University (B.A.1974), Vanderbilt University (MS 1975), and the University of Pittsburgh (PhD 1980).
